/surreal-spot is an advanced skill for crafting short ad concepts that stop the scrolling thumb. It rests on one principle — "impossible juxtaposition": it places your product in a setting that defies physical logic, yet renders it with precise photography and post. The app walks you through five phases: brand analysis, creative-concept approval (a creative gate), a nine-panel storyboard, a motion video and a final assembly with music. In this guide we'll run the whole flow click by click.
What you'll need
- FilmMovie Studio with a provider configured for both image and video generation (kie.ai or deAPI).
- At least one good product photo — attached via the paperclip icon in chat (not just a filename).
- The brand name and optionally a slogan or target format (9:16, 4:5 or 16:9).
Step by step
- 1
Run /surreal-spot and attach a product photo
In your project, type /surreal-spot into chat and describe the brand and product. Important: attach the product photo via the paperclip icon — a filename typed into the text won't work, the app needs the real image. If you have no photo, type "skip" and the concepts are built without a product reference.

Tip: From a real photo the app derives colors, material and shape, so the product stays true across the whole spot. - 2
Choose the aspect ratio
The app shows a choice (ask_user_choice) with three formats: 9:16 for mobile and vertical feeds, 4:5 for Instagram, and 16:9 for landscape or YouTube. Click the one that matches your target channel.

Review the Brand Visual Brief
After analyzing the photo, a "Brand Visual Brief" document card appears on the canvas — product category, dominant colors (hex), texture, shape and key elements. This is the project's root node; every later card connects to it.

Approve one of three concepts (creative gate)
Phase 2 is a creative gate ⛔: the app generates a "Concept Options" card with three options A/B/C — each uses a different creative dimension and emotional tone (Playful / Sublime / Provocative) and its own style reference. The app pauses and waits via ask_user_choice until you pick one concept.

Let the nine-panel storyboard generate
Once approved, the app generates a single 3×3 image — the "9-Grid Storyboard" — where each of the nine panels is one keyframe with the product, environment and lighting kept consistent. A quality gate then rates it 1–10; on a low score generation re-runs once automatically.

Animate the storyboard into video
Phase 4 takes the 9-grid as the first frame and renders a continuous "Final Spot" video of 6, 8 or 15 seconds. The motion is described with visual verbs (grows, cracks, floats) and one or two transitions in the style of the chosen visual medium (VHS, 16mm, Super 8…).

Open the timeline and add music
The app calls open_timeline and the track fills with the video. If the video is silent, an instrumental track (BGM) is generated to match the brand mood — e.g. urban lo-fi for sport, ethereal ambient for perfume.

Render the final spot
The last step calls render_timeline and stitches the storyboard, video and music into a single MP4. The render is terminal — it runs once. You'll find the finished spot as a card on the canvas and as a file in the project folder.

What you get
You have a finished surreal TVC spot: from a single product photo it went through brand analysis, an approved concept, a nine-panel storyboard and a motion video to a final MP4 with music, saved locally. Each phase stays as a card on the canvas, so you can remix any step and render a new version.
Pro tips
- The product never appears in the first frame — the first two panels build the environment and suspense; the product is the twist.
- Avoid AI tells: a visual medium (VHS, 16mm, Super 8) adds character better than words like "8K" or "hyper-realistic".
- No visible faces — a silhouette or back-of-head keeps continuity across panels and dodges a weakness of image models.
