The /promo-video skill turns a product photo and a short brief into a tight, selling promotional spot. FilmMovie Studio works like a creative director: it analyzes your product, writes a retention-structured script (Hook → Pattern Interrupt → CTA), generates scene keyframes locked to your real photo, animates each scene image-to-video, scores it with music and renders the final cut from the timeline. The iron law: the product on screen must be YOUR product — so every keyframe is generated against your real photo. In this guide we run the whole loop from the Launchpad to a finished MP4 in 16:9, 9:16 or 1:1.

What you'll need

  • FilmMovie Studio installed with at least one generation provider configured (kie.ai or deAPI).
  • 1–3 photos of your product saved on disk — ideally clean shots from a good angle.
  • A short brief: product name, what it does and the spot's goal (awareness, launch, feature demo or conversion).

Step by step

  1. 1

Create a project in the Launchpad

Launch FilmMovie Studio and in the Launchpad click "New project". Name it after the product (e.g. "Spot — Aura headphones") and confirm. The Workspace opens with the canvas on the left and the chat panel on the right.

Attach your product photo via the paperclip

In the chat panel, click the paperclip icon and attach 1–3 product photos. This is the key step: the skill builds style refs from these photos so the spot shows YOUR real product. Typed filenames won't work — you must attach the actual file.

Tip: No photo? You can still proceed — the spot then shows a representative, not exactly locked, product. With a photo the results are far more faithful.
  3. 3

    Run the /promo-video skill

In chat, type /promo-video and pick the skill from the list, or simply describe the intent ("Make a 20-second spot for these headphones"). The app reads the skill's workflow and starts with product analysis.

    Fill in the product brief

The app asks for production parameters in one form: goal (awareness / launch / feature demo / conversion), length (~15s = 3 scenes, ~20s = 4, ~30s = 5) and aspect ratio (16:9, 9:16 or 1:1). Pick and confirm. A "Product Brief" card appears on the canvas.

Tip: One scene = one selling point. A shorter social spot (9:16, ~15s) is more likely to be watched through to the CTA.

Approve the script at the creative gate

The app writes a scene-by-scene script with a Hook → Feature → CTA structure and pauses at the creative gate. Read the "Promo Script" card and click "Approve — generate the video", or choose "Revise" and say what to change. This is the only point that waits on your decision.

Watch keyframes and clips fill the canvas

After approval the rest runs automatically. For each scene a keyframe is generated first, locked to your product photo, then animated into a clip (image-to-video). Cards drop onto the canvas connected by edges: brief → script → keyframe → clip. A generating card shimmers first, then fills.

Let it add music and open the timeline

The app generates instrumental music (BGM) matched to the spot's tone and opens the timeline. It auto-populates with the scene clips in generation order and the music on the Music track. You can trim or reorder the clips and the music on the timeline.

    Render the final spot

Once the timeline is ready, the app renders — using ffmpeg it stitches the clips with crossfades, adds the music and drops a "Final render" card on the canvas. You'll find the finished MP4 saved locally in the project folder, ready to upload.

Tip: Render is the terminal step. To change anything, edit the cards or the timeline and render again — the original keyframes stay on the canvas.

What you get

You have a publish-ready promotional spot in your chosen aspect ratio: a Hook → Feature → CTA script, keyframes locked to your real product, smooth clips, backing music and a final MP4 saved locally. The whole project graph — brief, script, keyframes and clips — stays on the canvas, so you can remix any scene and render a new version.

Pro tips

  • Always attach a real product photo — text-only generation re-invents the product. With a photo every keyframe is locked to your true shape, color and details.
  • Vary angles and distances between scenes (pattern interrupt): two consecutive scenes with the same framing lose the viewer's attention.
  • Bake the CTA slogan into the scene itself (light forming letters, text in the environment) — don't count on a flat subtitle on top.
