The /hilo-promo skill is your social-media promo director. From a sentence or two of brief it produces a vertical 9:16 (1080×1920) clip — the kind that stops a thumb mid-scroll: a confident presenter speaking straight to camera, punchy benefit beats, bold subtitles and an upbeat music bed. This guide walks you through the whole pipeline — from collecting the brief through the presenter portrait, script, voiceover and lip-sync, to assembly and render. The app only pauses at the genuine decision points, so you stay in control without touching the plumbing.

What you'll need

  • FilmMovie Studio installed with at least one generation provider configured (kie.ai or deAPI).
  • A short brief: what you're promoting and in what visual style (a sentence or two is enough).
  • Optionally a reference photo of a person, if you want the presenter to resemble them (a stylized look-alike is created).

Step by step

  1. 1

Run /hilo-promo and fill in the brief

In the chat panel type /hilo-promo and confirm. A brief form opens with tabs: Product (what you're promoting), Visual style (Clean studio, Lifestyle, Bold neon, Minimal luxury), Presenter (Generate a presenter or Use my photo) and Voice (Energetic female, Warm male, Design a custom voice). Fill it in and submit.

Tip: If you write in another language, the app asks once whether the script, subtitles and on-screen text should be in that language. Image and video generation prompts are always in English.

Check the brief card on the canvas

The form creates a "Promo Brief" card — it summarizes the product, the key selling points, the style, and your presenter and voice choices. This card is the parent of everything that follows, so the project graph reads top to bottom.

Generate the presenter portrait and confirm it

The app creates a clean front-facing presenter portrait (3:4, head-and-shoulders, facing camera, plain background matched to the style). If you attached a photo, it makes a stylized look-alike, not a copy. It pauses with a choice: Use this presenter / Regenerate / Tweak something.

Tip: The app auto-checks quality — no text or watermark, face fully front-facing, consistent skin tone, plain background. It won't present a failing portrait; it regenerates instead.

    Approve the spoken script

A 25–40 second script (about 65–100 words) is written with this structure: a HOOK in the first line (lands within 2 seconds), 2–3 benefit beats, and one clear call to action. It lands as a "Promo Script" card and the app posts it in chat. Choose: Approve script / Revise. It won't move to the voiceover without approval.

    Let it generate the voiceover

The app reads the approved script in your chosen voice. If you picked a custom voice, you first hear a Voice Design preview and confirm it (a paid-tier feature). The audio card links to the script; the app notes the duration, which drives subtitle and timeline timing.

    Wait for the lip-synced video

The portrait and voiceover combine into a talking presenter with lip-sync. This is the slowest step — the render takes a few minutes. When it returns, the card links to the portrait and a one-line summary appears in chat.

    Add the supporting visuals

2–3 vertical 9:16 shots are generated for the benefit beats (product hero shot, product in use, the result) in the same palette and lighting as the presenter. The strongest 1–2 may get subtle motion (slow push-in, rotation). The cards link to the brief.

Assemble the timeline and render the promo

The app opens the timeline and populates it: the talking presenter is the spine, the supporting visuals cover their beats, subtitles are added by transcribing the lip-sync video (Whisper), and music sits under the voice. Choose: Render the promo / Let me adjust first / Change something. On confirmation the render runs — the terminal step, exactly once at the end.

Tip: Render is the last step. To change something, ask to redo a specific phase (e.g. "redo the supporting visuals in the neon style") and render again.

What you get

The result is a finished vertical 9:16 (1080×1920) promo: a lip-synced talking presenter as the spine, 2–3 supporting visuals on the benefit beats, bold synced subtitles and an upbeat music bed under the voice — all saved locally in the project. You can redo any phase at any time with a single chat request.

Pro tips

  • The hook must land in the first 2 seconds and always plays on the presenter — never open on a product still.
  • Using someone else's photo (a celebrity, anyone other than you) requires their permission to use their likeness in an ad; the app will flag this.
  • Keep one palette and lighting across the presenter and every visual — consistent grading reads as more premium and professional.
